The time

It's for my students of 1st secondary and 2nd secondary B , from the EAS .

Most of you know the Time, it's an excellent way to practice it.

"You're great" campaign

We saw this great video in class. We started thinking about the power of our words. Why don't we give a compliment instead of waiting for one??

In several situations we are aware of the possitive qualities of people around us, but we don't usually say it.

Making compliments is going to be our aim !!!

1- Enter this page to know why it is so important

2- You've got a mate drawing to make him/her a compliment

3- Read the instructions and choose the words and phrases you need .

Decide what you like about the mate you're going to compliment. Check the list for ideas.

Dictation

Click on the title

Choose your English dictation . You'll hear it read four times :

• first, the whole passage is read at normal speed for you to listen for gist;
• second, each phrase is read slowly twice, with punctuation, as you write;
• then the whole passage is read again for you to check your work;
• finally, the written text is shown - count your mistakes.

In comments , leave your name and the title of the dictation you practiced and get extra points !!!

Thomas visits Del Valle

Thomas Stacey (sent by British Council and Dirección de Capacitación de la Provincia de BA)visited our classrooms. He was at Escuela de Educación Media Nº3 and at EAS (Escuela Agrotécnica Salesiana) in Del Valle. All of us enjoyed listening to a native speaker of English. He made us feel comfortable. My students could use "their" English to communicate with him !!!. One of them even showed him how a flogger dances and some of them showed him the school around. He was always very polite, encouraging students to speak, making his best to understand and he kept a charming smile all the time. Tom used plain English and exchanged funny expressions . He taught : "y'alright " and learnt : " juega un montón"...

Rhymes

To my students in 1st and 2nd secondary. You have to choose a rhyme and learn it by heart. If you like, write the first words of the rhyme you chose , so our class show is original.

The second one was : Dear Mr President by Nazareno Montes.

But the results show us a clear winner. Lea did it FANTASTIC !!! She didn't only make our festival international, she gave us the BEST VIDEO !!!
